About the Program
The PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program is based primarily at Hartford Hospital with time spent at the University of St. Joseph School of Pharmacy and Physician Assistant Studies, and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. What attracted you to Hartford Hospital? Being from CT, I knew of Hartford Hospital's amazing reputation as an academic institution focusing on innovation. As a Level 1 Trauma Center, I knew I would be able to participate in caring for complex patient populations and gain knowledge from invaluable experiences you cannot find anywhere else. During my interview, everyone I met, both in and out of the pharmacy department, greeted me with a smile and made me feel welcome right away, which was probably the biggest factor in my decision to choose Hartford Hospital.
What do you do in your free time? In my free time, I am usually watching/re-watching TV shows like Modern Family, 911, Parks&Rec, etc. In the summer, I love to be outside at the beach or pool, where I tend to re-read the same series (Percy Jackson) over and over, but I will pick up a new book every once in a while. I also enjoy cooking and baking (but not cleaning up).
What do you love most about Connecticut? I love being home and able to see my friends and family more often than I could during pharmacy school or PGY-1. Besides that, CT offers a unique location close to so many different places like Boston, NYC, or RI beaches. I also love the fall and experiencing the leaves changing colors. CT also has so many amazing and different restaurants to try.
